Candy Crush: Are you ready to burn calories?

I and my husband are too much into gaming. Actually, my MIL, BIL and SIL as well. We often discuss the various levels of God of War, Tomb Raider [PS3] or Candy Crush. Me and my MIL were literally discussing tricks to clear a particular level on CC as I tutored her on the various combinations that would be helpful -  a 30-minute discussion! And the family bonding is reflected in the way we help each other out crack a level someone is having trouble with.
This month, my travel reading was replaced by Subway Surfer (which I have deleted now after achieving some awesome points) and my restroom newspaper reading turned into candy crapping... I mean candy crushing. Damn, the addiction of the hottest game of the year is uncontrollable! It's like eating those yummy irresistible candies - they make you feel good no doubt, but if you have too many of them, the added calories can really take a toll on your health.

So before the addiction consumes me, I thought of deleting the app from all my devices on 1st January 2014 as part of my New Year Resolutions that I always strictly adhere to. Then I thought, why wait until then? The challenge is in doing it right now. And I DID IT! Seriously, I am feeling so gooood... what a relief!

So, if you are addicted to something like Candy Crush that though entertaining is eating up your time, may be you can join me in burning these calories. Are you game?

PS I have nothing against Candy Crush, it is simply too good, the smartest addictive game in its category. Also, if you play Candy Crush, but are not addicted to it, please do not give me gyaan - "Oh you must play but have some self control?" Let me feel good about this step.

  1. There is a saying in Sanskrit. "Subasya Seegra". That means, if you want to do a good thing do not wait. Do it as soon as possible. That is what you did by not waiting until Jan 1.
